Cargo Handling Rise by 45 % in May at Riga Container Terminal LLC

The amount of cargo handling in May at Riga Container Terminal LLC, a company of Riga Commercial Port (RTO) LLC group, has achieved a 45 % rise compared to the same period last year.

The company specialises in container handling and offers Sea–Rail transhipment services. 

“Riga Container Terminal LLC aims to ensure complex container handling solutions between European countries, Russia and Central Asia. Owing to our competent and experiences cooperation partners, we have succeeded to essentially increase the cargo turnover and ensure regular cargo flow. We are also planning to develop container transit to the Ukraine and Turkey,” says Raivis Veckāgans, Chairman of the Company’s Board.      

Riga Commercial Port (RTO) is the leading investor, developer and operator of port assets and transportation service companies in the Republic of Latvia.

RTO consists of four business units that provide services ranging from terminal operations, railway cargo transportation, infrastructure and utility management in the Riga port area. 

In 2010, the cumulative cargo throughput handled by RTO group of companies constituted 22.6 million tons.
