RIGA COAL TERMINAL

Limited Liability Company RIGA COAL TERMINAL (RCoalT) is a terminal specialised in handling of energy and metallurgical coal of all kinds and located at Krievu Island, Port of Riga. The terminal has been active since spring 2019. 

The company’s goal is to provide the best infrastructure and service for cargo handling and storage in free customs area regime.

RCoalT operates with two berths (KRS6 and KRS7) of the total length of 520 m and the permissible draught of 14.5 m, thus providing simultaneous handling of two PANAMAX class vessels. Terminal infrastructure is suitable also for accommodation of BABYCAPE and POST-PANAMAX class vessels. Production process is always provided by modern loading equipment, machinery and conveyor line. Stationary and portable humidification equipment is used to decrease coal dust. Operational zone of the terminal is confined by more than 2 km long and 17 m high wind (dust) fence, which reduces release of coal dust into environment.

Regular supervision and improvement of technological processes is in place to minimise the environmental impact.

The terminal employs more than 160 qualified workers, who take care of efficient operation of the terminal and cargo handling 24/7.
