Riga Central Terminal (RCT) invests in modern and powerful mobile cargo crane

Limited Liability Company Riga Central Terminal (RCT) has purchased a new mobile crane Liebherr LHM400, which today is the most modern and powerful crane in the Republic of Latvia.

'In accordance with the crane's lifting and mobility functions, we now have the opportunity to receive and service vessels of larger sizes, increase cargo handling speeds and volumes, and also attract new clients.' says Valdis Andersons, Member of the Board of RCT.

The mobile crane LHM400 is designed for versatile and efficient cargo handling up to Panamax sized vessels. With a maximum lifting capacity of 104 tonnes and a maximum working radius of 48 metres, LHM400 is ideally suited for all type of cargo handling needs, such as those of containers, general cargo, bulk materials and heavy lifts of unconventional types of cargo.

The crane delivery operation from factory in Rostock, Germany to RCT is considered as a unique one, since it was transported to Riga by a sea-barge completely assembled, and therefore significantly accelerating its delivery and immediate utilisation for terminal works.

The total investments made by RCT to obtain the new crane constitute 2,720,000 Euro.

RCT is one of the largest stevedoring companies in the Republic of Latvia. It is located in the Riga port and has been providing services since 1996. RCT is a member of the LLC Riga Commercial Port (RTO) group of companies.
