RIGA CONTAINER TERMINAL LLC turnover increases by 44 per cent

The container cargo turnover at RIGA CONTAINER TERMINAL LLC (RIGACT), a company of Riga Commercial Port LLC, has grown by 44 % in 2013 compared to the previous year.

In 2012, the number of handled containers was 44 470 TEU, the figure for 2013 stands at 63 949 TEU.

“We have been able to achieve such a result owing to the successful cooperation with container carriers like Riga Container Line, CMA CGM, Mann Lines, Evergreen and MSC. Of course, we have also implemented a terminal management system, made a few infrastructure improvements and investments in new technical equipment. Another key factor in the turnover growth was our cooperation with metallurgical raw material and timber exporters,” says Mr Māris Katranži, board member of the company.

RIGACT specializes in container and general cargo handling and Sea – Rail container transshipment operations.

RTO is the leading terminal and transit business investor, developer and operator in Latvia.
